Why would anyone who plays guitar need or want a guitar VST plugin? Does a fish need a bicycle?:John. Most people who use VSTs use them either for instruments they don't play or for instruments that are impractical for them to keep at home for some reason. There's no reason that somebody who can actually play guitar might want to use a second rate copy from a VST instead, whereas a lot of pianists can't afford one or fit it into their living space. A guitar is a relatively small (and fairly inexpensive) instrument unlike, say, a piano. Most guitarists don't care for any of them much. So again, I think the op is stuck at the point of "let's say you perform a guitar track." He can't do that. I just use the vsti sounds triggered by my ability to play keyboard (midi for example) and "think it in with my fingers" like as if I were playing the real guitar. because I'm a guitar player and personally think all the built-in strum/hammer-on/harmonics and whatnot effects are r-e-a-l-l-y not good on any guitar vsti that has that added stuff. he asked which ones have realistic strumming etc effects. Hence, he's not only interested in adequate vsti guitar sounds but maybe just as important. Which means he probably is also not able to do a midi-input-via keyboard part while thinking like a guitar player. I think the op is stuck because he's not a guitar player at all. if you use the MIDI track from the guitar track you can now substitute the guitar model without re recoding the track. Suppose now, you think a STRAT might sound better. then you convert it to midi data using Melodyne and you used a LES PAUL as an example.
